Alan Bartlett

Alan, a founding member of the Goodhart team in 2009, serves as Chairman of both the Goodhart Partners Board and Volunteer Park Capital Fund Investment Committee. Alan was previously Chief Executive Officer at Goodhart having led its creation through the management buyout of WestLB Mellon Asset Management’s institutional multi-manager team.

Alan is also Chief Investment Officer at Templeton Global Equity Group (TGEG), having assumed this position in October 2019. Alan oversees the management of $71bn in assets (at 30 June 2019) across TGEG’s global/international, regional and small cap equity strategies.

Prior to Goodhart, Alan was Chief Investment Officer of the multi-manager team at WestLB Mellon Asset Management (“WMAM”). He joined WMAM in September 2005 from MM Asset Management, where he was Director of Research, responsible for manager research and fund construction across a broad range of multi-manager funds. Before MM Asset Management, Alan was Head of Manager Research at Aon Investment Consulting in London, and Head of Manager Research at Hymans Robertson Actuaries & Consultants in Glasgow.

Alan has an MSc in Investment Analysis and a BA (Hons) in Economic Policy, both from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
